Program Suspended in 2020

While this program is suspended in 2020, we plan to bring it back in 2021. If you need to dispose of old tires, you can schedule an on-site pickup through our Bulky Item Collection program.

From Fall through November 30, the City of Cedar Rapids hosts a free tire disposal event. Cedar Rapids residents can dispose of up to 8 car and/or small truck tires for free. Residents must present a ticket (found in your Municipal Utility Bill) to participate in this event.

Tires can be dropped off Monday-Saturday between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 1954 County Home Rd., Marion, IA (Near Hwy 13 at County Home Road)

Tires
Up to 8 car or small truck tires with rims on or off can be dropped off with no charge.

More than 8 Tires
If you bring more than eight car or small truck tires you will be charged $3.00 for each tire.

If you bring more than 16 tires total you will be charged the normal $0.15 per pound for the tires. Larger tires (semi, tractor) and all quartered tires will be weighed and charged $0.15 per pound.
