The total number of shots fired for 2020 through July 28, 2020 is 105. This includes incidents in which a person was injured, property was damaged, shell casings were found, surveillance video evidence or multiple witnesses corroborate. The average number of shots fired per month and per year since January 1, 2016 is included as well.

July 21, 2020 - KCRG TV-9 requested how many of the shooting incidents in Cedar Rapids over the past two months (June and July) had victims show up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound?
There were 2 individuals that presented at Cedar Rapids emergency rooms in June with gunshot wounds and there have been 5 in July.
June 20 - 6:37 p.m. possible shooting at 3909 20th Avenue SW, victim transported by private vehicle to local hospital (Arrest Made)
June 21 - 11:01 p.m. - 18-year old male presented with non-life threatening GSW at Mercy Medical Center, believe that the shots fired occurred in the 1500 block of 1st Avenue East (Victim did not cooperate)
July 11 - 4:10 a.m. - 26-year old male presented with non-life threatening GSW at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, unknown where the shooting took place (Victim did not cooperate)
July 11 - 3:42 p.m. - 24-year old male presented with non-life threatening GSW at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital, believe the victim was injured during a drug deal in the 600 block of 16th Avenue SW (Active investigation)
July 15 - 12:08 a.m. - 27-year old male presented at Mercy Medical Center with non-life threatening GSW, shots fired in 2300 block of Bever Avenue SE (Active investigation)
July 18 - 5:57 a.m. - 20-year old male presented at UnityPoint Health-St. Luke's Hospital with non-life threatening GSW, apparently occurred in the 700 block of 7th Avenue SW (Victim did not cooperate)
July 19 - 12:28 a.m. - 32-year old male presented at Mercy Medical Center with two non-life threatening GSWs, occurred at a party in the 500 block of 12th Street SE (Active investigation)
The reporter was encouraged to contact both hospitals to see if there were any other gunshot victims that presented at their hospitals.
